Overwinters as a larva

Usual larval stage - September to May

Adult forewing - male around 10 to 12mm, female around 13 to 16mm. Flies mid-June to July

Larval foodplants : In the lower parts of the stems of Common Reed (Phragmites australis),
Reed Sweet-grass (Glycera maxima) and sedges (Carex spp.)
