160 Reed Leopard (Phragmataecia castaneae)

Recorded size range of fully grown larvae - 40 to 45mm

Single-brooded, overwintering twice as a larva

Usual larval stage July to May

Adult forewing - around 15 to 23mm. Flies June to July

Larval foodplants : Larvae feed internally in the roots and lower stems of common reed (Phragmites australis)
